About the event

Book Release Event Glass House with author Paul Jessop Monday, October 9 at 5:30 PM

Just in time for October and a great way to kick off Spooky Season, we're hosting a release event for local author Paul Jessup's new horror novel Glass House! Stop by the store to meet the author, take a look at this chilling new book, and grab a copy to have signed. Paul will be doing a reading from his new book, as well! An unwinding tale of madness and horror. Consider it Amityville Colour Out of Space, if you will. In the darkness and the shadows lies something sinister, waiting for the Glass Family to move in and plant their roots. Ancient things, that dwelled beyond the edges of time, The Mothers of Sorrow, and their horrorific son, the Child of the Abyss. They were trapped in the house by the ghosts of a sixties suicide cult, whose last act was a binding ritual, powered by their own deaths.

You may have seen Paul around the store on your trips in - he's a regular and a frequent presence here! Paul Jessup is not your average, humdrum, run of the mill, every day, horror writer. He’s been at this game for a little over 20 years now, getting his start in the literary experimental underground scene where he combined elements of extreme horror with the stylings of the beat poets combined with the modernist and post modernist experimentation. From there he decided to branch out, and away from literary journals and presses, and started trying his hands in the more pure genre landscapes.

Mostly known for combining horror and science fiction or horror and folk lore, he has had numerous short stories published in literary magazines to the tune of over 150 publications so far as well as quite a few books published over the years, mostly in the small press. He makes some video games on the side, with a few being on the Nintendo Switch, and one being a best seller, and is also an active pro member of HWA.
